If you want it, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse

1. Mount VirtualBox Guest Additions

Click Devices > Install Guest Additions… on VirtualBox
Mount VirtualBox Guest Additions device

5. Reboot guest system

  • Rich says:

Where is “Devices > Install Guest Additions… on VirtualBox?”

I see The following Menus on Mac OS using 5.0.6

    VirtualBox File Machine Window Help

    Under VirtualBox
Check for updates, Network Operations Manager, Preferences, Services,Hide Virtual Box, Hide Others, Show All, Quit VirtualBox

    Under Machine
New, Add, Settings, Clone, Remove, Group, Show,Pause, Reset, Close, Discard, Show Log, Refresh, Show in Folder, Create Alias on Desktop, Sort

Where is this “Devices” menu supposed to be?

  • Rich says:

OK. I found it. I had pressed Host-C to shrink the window so I could read instructions.

Pressing Host-C again made the Devices menu come back.

Now I get the “Invalid settings detected” message under Storage.

“System: Motherboard page: USB controller emulation is not currently enabled on the USB page.

So I found the USB page. And “This is needed to support an emulated USB input for device you have enabled for this VM.” It will be done automatically if you confirm your changes.”

So I clicked OK. Things seem better now. So far…
